This recipe is fine for all stages of the program
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- ½ tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. black pepper
- 1 ½ lb. cabbage (or one large head)
- 1 bunch green onions
- 1 small package white mushrooms thinly sliced
- 1 tsp. garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Frank’s hot sauce
- 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
- ½ tsp. red pepper, crushed (optional)
Directions:
- In a large frying pan, brown ground beef.
- Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Remove ground beef from pan and set aside.
- Leave oil in the pan.
- Add garlic, sesame oil, cabbage, green onion and mushrooms to pan.
- Cook until cabbage begins to brown. (everyone will have a different preference for how cooked they like their vegetables so keep an eye on it as you cook and pull it off the heat when the cabbage gets to the consistency you like)
- Add soy sauce, Frank’s, apple cider vinegar and red pepper to frying pan. (at this point, you may want to add a little sweetener of you choice as well to balance out the flavour a little)
- Return ground beef to pan, and stir together over low to medium heat for two minutes.
